What’s Cooking in Bridgeport Week Kicks Off with Free Desserts First Event, May 14

Bridgeport, CT (May 8, 2012) – Start What’s Cooking in Bridgeport restaurant and entertainment week with “Desserts First” at the Arcade Mall in downtown Bridgeport.  The event includes free dessert tastings, live music and art and runs from 5:30 to 7:30pm on Monday, May 14, at 1001 Main Street.

Participating Bridgeport businesses include Toppings Cupcakes, Gofer Ice Cream, Luigi’s Italian Pastries, El Flamboyan Restaurant, Harborview Market, Bridgeport Arts & Cultural Council, Gumdrop Swap, and Pryceless Consulting.

Celebrating its third year, What’s Cooking in Bridgeport is showcasing a wide array of establishments offering fixed price menus with diverse cuisine options located throughout Connecticut’s largest city.  From Brazilian to Vietnamese, French and soul food, Bridgeport dining has something for everyone.

In addition to offering restaurant specials, What’s Cooking in Bridgeport also includes arts and entertainment activities throughout the week.  Enjoy dinner and a movie on Tuesday, May 15, as the Bijou Theatre at 275 Fairfield Avenue presents a double-feature celebrating restaurants with El Bulli and Jiro Dreams of Sushi; the first film begins at 6:05pm. Bridgeport, CT (April 5, 2012) – Experience Bridgeport’s growing and thriving restaurant and entertainment scene from Monday, May 14 to Sunday, May 20, 2012 during What’s Cooking in Bridgeport.

Participating restaurants in What’s Cooking in Bridgeport restaurant and entertainment week offer patrons a new fixed price menu.  The tiered menu offers consumers great prices and the opportunity to experience new restaurants as well as revisit some of their favorites.

‪Restaurants including Two Boots, Epernay Bistro and Barnum Publick House have already signed up to join in this year’s festivities.
